SPOTLIGHT: FunMobility launches America's Best Mobile Pix 2.0

In February 2005 FunMail (now FunMobility) launched America's Best Mobile Pix, an application that gave users the ability to upload pictures and vote on them, but user comments evolved into social networking efforts. ABMP 2.0 makes social networking easier for the app's users who can now create user profiles. The service generates over 1 million votes per week. Carriers are looking to include social networking apps like this one to increase revenues from MMS, which have not lived up to their text-based cousin's revenues. The company also announced a new social networking platform called Connect that is set for release later this year. Release and Release
