Spotlight: Nucleus Research drops the bomb on BYOD

Boston-based Nucleus Research is predicting that BYOD will in fact decline next year, as companies focus on the high total cost of ownership with no discernible return on investment, and that they will be shocked and awed by what they find. The research group said that firms will pull back on supporting BYOD when they realize the support costs, compliance risks and usage reimbursement drawbacks that result from employees bringing their own devices to work. "As enterprise CFOs take a closer look at the true pros and cons of BYOD in 2013, they will seek to pursue the most fiscally responsible option: corporate-based accounts," Nucleus concluded in a research note.
