Spotlight: Panasonic introduces 2 enterprise-grade Toughpad tablets

Japanese firm says it controls 80 percent of the rugged mobile device market

Panasonic introduced on Tuesday two new enterprise-grade Toughpad tablets-- the Toughpad FZ-G1, a 10-inch tablet with the Windows 8 Pro operating system, and the Toughpad JT-B1, a 7-inch Android-powered tablet. The new tablets are based on the 10-inch Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1, which Panasonic released late last year. The rugged Toughpad tablets are designed for mobile workers who work under demanding conditions in fields such as the military, construction, healthcare, public safety, utilities, retail and insurance. Panasonic said it holds 80 percent of the market in rugged mobile devices. Read more
