Sprint Nextel getting HTC Touch Pro 2 Sept. 8

Sprint Nextel announced it will begin selling the business-centric HTC Touch Pro 2 on Sept. 8 for $350 after a $100 rebate and a two-year contract.

The Windows Mobile 6.1 device will include a large resistive touch screen and a slide-out five-row QWERTY keyboard. The device will be able to receive push corporate and private email along with calendar and contact information. The Touch Pro 2 also sports a high-quality speakerphone that has dual microphones and noise filters, WiFi, EV-DO connectivity, assisted-GPS and Bluetooth.

"Unlike devices that focus solely on specifications, HTC Touch Pro 2 was designed with the philosophy that people should be at the center of the communications experience," said Jason Mackenzie, vice president of HTC America, in a statement. "So, instead of having to search through multiple applications to find a specific message, HTC Touch Pro 2 intuitively organizes all communications, whether voice, text, or email, under a single contact card."

Verizon Wireless is also expected to get its hands on the HTC Touch Pro 2 later this year. T-Mobile already has it.

This device looks good. I am constantly on the move and this appears to travel well. It's small enough to be out of the way and yet offers what I need. This item was designed with everything I need when I travel so I congratulate Sprint for its design and its forward thinking. I look ahead to convenience from this new Sprint 2 Touch Pro. I will let you know how it goes. casino
