Surface security concerns surface

Microsoft's new Surface user interface promises much when it comes to ease of use and application functionality. According to security analysts, it also has many questions regarding how security issues will be dealt with, especially when it comes to financial transactions and credit card purchases. Microsoft executives say that RFID and near-field communications (NFC) may well play a role in securing the applications and transactions. The version of Surface announced in May is Version 1.0--application architects and IT managers should begin looking at the technology now to understand how it can help their users in the future.
