Mobile service management software company BoxTone said that based on surveys of nearly 1200 IT professionals at more than 800 enterprise, government and managed services providers, iPad adoption is accelerating.

The firm found that:

  • 73 percent of respondents expect to deploy the iPad and other Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iOS devices within their companies during the next 12 months, with more than a quarter expecting to roll them out immediately;
  • Nearly 40 percent of those surveyed anticipate iPad deployment growth in the range of 20 percent or more during the next 12 months;
  • More than 50 percent plan to deploy at least one iPad application in the next 12 months, with a quarter anticipating three or more.

"The iPad could be part of one of the biggest IT asset expansion and replacement waves of the last two decades," said Alan Snyder, CEO, BoxTone. "Impressed by its form factor and user experience, companies are just now budgeting for large scale rollouts in 2011, with most organizations viewing the iPad as a high-value application delivery platform."
