Symantec has licensed a set of software tools from Bluefire--a set of tools intended to make wireless mobile computing as secure as internal-cabled workstations. Bluefire Mobile is a suite of applications that includes authentication and encryption, a firewall, and an intrusion prevention service. The suite, which supports Windows Mobile devices up to Windows Mobile 5, is inter-operable with the Bluefire Mobile VPN and can be configured to protect devices on an application-by-application basis. Basic licensing begins at $50 per device, with availability beginning this week.
