Verizon Wireless announced the latest exclusive release in its ongoing collaboration with hip-hop producer Timbaland, who will partner with venerable alt-rocker Chris Cornell to record "Stop Me" for the operator's BlackBerry Storm users. Cornell--the former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman who issued the solo effort Scream earlier this week--is slated to join Timbaland on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus today in advance of an invitation-only event in Chicago; after "Stop Me" premieres at the event, Verizon will release the song for free download to BlackBerry Storm devices later this evening.

"Stop Me" is the third song released in conjunction with the Verizon Wireless Producer in Residence program--Timbaland previously helmed sessions with Rihanna ("Rehab") and the Jonas Brothers ("Tonight"). According to Verizon Wireless, all three songs will be available to all of its V Cast music service subscribers later this spring.
