Will Verizon Wireless get the Apple iPad after all?
Will Verizon Wireless get its hands on an Apple iPad yet?
Rumors had been building for months that the iPad would go to Verizon Wireless rather than long-time partner AT&T Mobility, but last week Apple stayed with its partner, selling the iPad on an unlocked basis. But the Verizon Wireless/iPad rumors live on.
This week, a report from Silicon Alley Insider, citing an unnamed Verizon source, said a Verizon/iPad deal is still in the works, and that Apple will announce the partnership later this year. Such a deal might be unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June, an event that has, in the past, served as a launching pad for Apple's iPhone enhancements. Such a deal would require Apple to include CDMA technology into its products.
