Wireless in the Demo 07 spotlight
There were plenty of companies eager to show their wares at Demo 07, and some of the most impressive devices were for mobile platforms. From the razzle-dazzle of flying pigs controlled by Bluetooth to small form-factor hard disk drives ready to provide storage for mobile phones, the clear conclusion is that the mobile smartphone is increasingly viewed as a viable business application platform. From e-commerce apps for the mobile platforms to location trackers and unified messaging systems, the tools are becoming available to bring mobile platform capabilities closer to those of laptop PCs.
