Yahoo teams with ABC News for original digital programming
Yahoo and ABC News announced a new strategic alliance bringing original news and information programming to PCs, mobile devices and tablets, promising consumers expanded access to new video content including a series of digital-exclusive programs.
Moving forward, ABC News will serve as the premier news provider for Yahoo News, with content integrated across the Yahoo digital network. The launch includes the introduction of GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo as well as three original series: Newsmakers (which kicks off today when Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos interviews President Obama live at the White House at 2:35 p.m. ET), Around the World with Christiane Amanpour (featuring international news and analysis) and This Could Be Big (spotlighting new technological innovations). Yahoo and ABC News will continue to roll out new digital programs throughout 2012.
Yahoo and ABC News reach a combined monthly audience of more than 100 million U.S. consumers across the desktop and mobile platforms. Last month, Yahoo's board of directors removed Carol Bartz from her role as CEO, appointing Timothy Morse--who joined the company in June as CFO--as its interim chief.
