Zynga, the social gaming giant behind hit titles like FarmVille, Mafia Wars and Zynga Poker, named former Electronic Arts vice president Jeff Karp to serve as its new chief marketing and revenue officer. Karp is the second high-profile EA exec to move to Zynga in recent months: Earlier this year, EA COO John Schappert took the same gig at Zynga. In July Zynga filed a $1 billion initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission, revealing its games boast 60 million daily active users and 232 million monthly active users. The firm also stated that daily active users across mobile platforms grew more than tenfold between November 2010 and June 2011. Article
